1. Measure PTO shaft length, including pilot depth to engine block (Dimension A)
   
   
2. Measure pump shaft length including pilot depth to pump flange mounting face (Dimension B)
   
   
3. Select drive coupling on basis of torque capacity, and find spider thickness (Dimension C)
   
   
4. Add clearance desired, from .0625 to .500, if necessary (Dimension D). If shaft and coupling stack up does not allow for a clearance, consideration should be made to shorten engine shaft. If this is not possible, consult our engineering staff. We have thousands of other coupling designs in stock!
   
   
5. Add dimensions A=B=C=D to yield overall casting length as shown:

   

6.) Now, select Guardian item # as follows:

MATERIAL: ALUMINUM (for straight shafts)
MATERIAL: SINTERED STEEL (for splined shafts)
MATERIAL: CAST IRON (for splined/straight shafts) | DYNAMIC AND ENGINEERING DATA

SAE-2/SAE-4 BOLT MOUNT | NEMA ELECTRIC MOTOR SHAFT AND "C" FACE
