Type FH Flywheel Coupling

• The GuardexT FH is an elastic, robust and at the same time fail safe drive system. The GuardexT FH is a coupling with progressive characteristics i.e. the dynamic torsional stiffness is enhanced with increasing coupling load.
  
  
• Flywheels available in SAE 7 1/2 thru SAE 18. hubs may accommodate shafts to 120mm in diameter. Rubber elements available in 3 hardness levels, and are used specifically in high inertia applications, such as centrifugal pumps, compressors, and dual bearing gen sets. The GuardexT FH Coupling can also be employed in applications such as diesel engine-generator sets, welding sets, blowers, compressors. The (5) standard coupling sizes cover a nominal torque range to 88,500 In#.
  
  

• High quality materials have been selected for the GuardexT FH Coupling. The drive and driven hubs are manufactured out of cast iron GGG 40 (spheroidal graphite cast-iron, with a minimal tensile strength of 58,000 PSI); the rubber material used is (NBR) (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Rubber). NBR is an oil and abrasion resistant rubber, which can be employed within a temperature range of -15° F to +195° F and can be supplied in several hardness levels; 50, 60 and 75 degrees Shore A. Unless otherwise stated the hubs of the FH Coupling are treated with Manganese Phosphate, which offers excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance.
  
  
• This type of coupling gives a distinct advantage in installations where a wide range is used, and where torque increases with speed. The resulting characteristics provide the GuardexT FH Coupling with relatively low torsional stiffness that places the critical speed (resonance) below the operational speed of the system.
